I use the Insteon ISY and the Elk M1 to control my lighting. I find it easier to use the ISY software to manage the device names and locations by following a simply naming format. I use a 4 character code for the location followed by a dash followed by the device name. As an example, the master bedroom overhead light is named "BdrM-Overhead" in the ISY.

Getting the lighting data into HomeSeer using the Elk M1 HSPI is a multiple step process.

Export the lighting to an XML file using the Insteon ISY software.

Import the Insteon lighting data into the Elk M1 using the Elk RP software.

Confirm the number of devices you have defined in the Elk M1 matches UltraM1G > Options > Defined Elk M1G Configuration > Lighting

From HomeSeer, refresh the Elk M1 configuration from UltraM1G > Status > Reload Data. The reload may take up to 5 minutes on a slow HomeSeer PC.

Use the script below to programmatically update the location based on the imported device names.

I've read that some of you are using USB over ethernet hubs. What has your experience been with them, and what are you using? Has anyone used them with USB sound cards? I'm considering adding this to my setup, but since HS is virtualized I don't want to use a real USB hub (stability issues). I'm trying to determine if I can reliably run multiple USB sound cards with a USB over Ethernet hub for zoned audio. My other option is to use a dedicated Windows PC just for the audio (JRMC) which I would prefer not to do.

Hi folks!

I've got a Schlage deadbolt that has been working fine. I'm a bit confused, however, about the battery status. It shows a single battery status, but has dual batteries (a pair of AAs, and a 9v). So the question is, which batteries is it showing status for? Battery level is getting down to around 20%, I should probably consider replacing, but don't want to replace all of them if only one or the other is low... *shrug*....
I suspect that the problem is partly a database issue. That is, the event actually ran, but the last run time did not update, but there are other cases where I know the event did not run because the expected actions failed to occur.
Any ideas as to the cause (and cure)?
I'm working on a new (and hopefully more reliable) way of triggering events based on automated emails, but I'm running into an issue because these emails contain a variable time in the subject line...

The script I'm using (which works fine with a constant subject line) is:

PHP Code:

&if hs.MailSubject(hs.MailTrigger)= "Status Changed at **:** **" then hs.TriggerEvent "TestEvent"

The variable time always exists in this format: **:** ** / 09:07 pm

Is there a way to include wildcards or maybe run the script based on "subject line contains" instead of "subject line is?"

Thanks in advance for your help!
