Can IR Blaster for Media Edition PC be used?

My Homeseer machine is a HP MCE box that already has a IR blaster with 2 1/8 plugs available.

Can homeseer use that to control A/V equipment, or will I need a seperate solution, like a USB/IRT?

    Thanks,

    Bill

I don't think MS have published the interfaces for the MCE IR stuff, it would be an interesting thing if they did since the remote, the receiver and the 2 IR blaster connection retail for less then 30 pounds here in the UK.

Windows XP recognises the receiver as an ehome unit - but I think the transmit stuff is MS proprietry.

    Malarcy.

I just happended to run across a MCE controller which looks like could be used for this.

          MediaPortal drives the MCE IR

And the source code is available (open source) so it must be possible, I think it isn't particularly clever (what is?).

I actually drive HomeSeer via MediaPortal and the [free] plugins I wrote. So less of an issue.

In fact the same HS plugin also talks to an Android app I wrote (which also does voice recognition).
