    Humidity sensor misalignment

I temporarily removed a Midon Design temp and humidity sensor from my Temp08 based 1-wire network (assigned R1) and now MCS Temp reads my second sensor (assigned R2) as R1 and my third sensor (assigned R3) as R2. Each sensor has a unique serial ID. Does MCS Temp not recognized the unique sensor ID - which is recognized in the setup screen - when it reads the sensor data?

Can you make it do that so temporary removal of a sensor that isn't the last one in the chain is recognized properly?

Oddly, the TEMP08 probably kept the temp sensor in memory but not the humidity sensor, so MCS Temp sees "???" for the temp and does not lose that sensor. I will report this to the TEMP08 group but think it would be better if the s/w would recognize the uniqueness of the sensor ID rather than "sensor #" coming from the h/w...

mcsTemp uses the serial number for the DS9097 interface, but the Temp08-provided number from the Temp08. In the xapmcsTemp0x the serial number is used to identify the device.

can you cut/paste the xAP code into MCSTemp?

It is a design structure thing. mcsTemp was made for compatibility with the original Temp05 plugin done by Ken Mitchell. The index is also used for the K3145. It caused a lot of problems using the index rather than the serial number. While the compatibility is no longer much of a concern, it is much work to redesign so it is only going forward will you see the use of the serial number with the Temp05/08.
