This project is to build a fully featured Digital Audio Broadcast (DAB & DAB+) & FM radio receiver which can be controlled by Homeseer. For DAB broadcasts, numerous metrics are available including station text, station name, station genre, bitrate, RSSI, SNR, quality and ensemble. If RDS (Radio Data Services) are available on FM broadcasts, these will also be shown. Selection of radio stations can be achieved via events together with on/off, volume, mono/stereo etc. Also included is a sleep timer function with volume reduction to zero feature. Radio volume will also automatically reduce to a pre-defined level when the Homeseer speaker client is in use; ramping back slowly to its original volume level once it has finished.
The project uses the Dab shield board and an Arduino M0 clone (required for the extra memory capability) from https://www.dabshield.com/
Also included is the necessary library and sketch to program the Arduino; together with the unmanaged plugin to interface with Homeseer. This is a Windows only application but can be installed on any Windows PC on your Network and controlled from an Homeseer Linux system.
Multiple boards can be configured if necessary. Full details in the supplied documentation.
