    Hi Guys

I just noticed this old thread.... can this script be used to check current IP address and send an email if the address is changed?

    Thanks

Yes it can. Before I went with a no-ip address it's exactly what I used to use it for, and it did a very fine of of it as well, like all Jon's scripts.

Did you copy the files in the download zip to those directories?

I assume you are using V1.0.1?

As it was in the HELP

I've run the script first and then I copy files in the zip.
Linux is case sensitive maybe this is the problem?

maybe this slashes and backslashed are the problem
            /usr/local/HomeSeer\Data\Jon00\IPupdate\Local\HSAccess.html

Again I have to ask....are you using V1.0.1. Check the bottom of the docs.

V1.0.0 was never tested against Linux. I did so last week and found a couple of issues.

If it has failed getting the IP Address from 3 different sites then I would suspect there is something wrong with your Internet connectivity. Can you access http://checkip.dyndns.org/ from the HS Server?

I also do not understand your Log date which shows October and we are currently in January!

Looks like an internet access issue. Can you access icanhazip.com from a web browser running on your HS PC?

Yes. It returns my WAN IP

Under Tools/Script Commands (HS4) or Tools/Control panel (HS3) , what do you see if you enter the following script command:

                              &nhs.writelog("IP",hs.wanip)

Another user stated it worked fine earlier this week: https://forums.homeseer.com/forum/3r...-with-pushover

                                "IP Unknown"

                                My event is:
Then Run the script: C:/Program Files (x86)/HomeSeer HS3/scripts/Jon00IPUpdateHS3.vben
Do I need to edit Jon00IPUpdateHS3.ini?

                                Code:
Script:Script file C:/Program Files (x86)/HomeSeer HS3/scripts/Jon00IPUpdateHS3.vben is encrypted and cannot be loaded for editing.
