I want to re-activate Jon email checker.

    Hello guys

For a while I was using Jon's email program, but I had to shut down HS for about 2 years because of personal issues, but I started again and I would like to reuse the program again. When I started to use HS I deleted all the events since I wanted to start from scratch.

My question is, where do I start to make this work again? Aim pretty sure there has been updates for this program, should I download from updater so I can have the latest ver? Or do I uninstall what's left of the previos program? Sinces I had deletes events related to this plugin?

Jon, thks for responding, I ve follwed the instructions, but it's says that the plugin will create a recurring event, but this did not occur. My question is, what should I name the event and what is the script name?

Also the instructions said to copy checkpop.xx to the zips file, in the down load there where 2 file named chechpop.xx, do they both belong on the zips older?

          Hector,

Sorry, I did read this but then got diverted on to other things!

The zip you downloaded from my site should be unzipped somewhere on your PC. Once you have done that, there should be 3 files created, Checkemail3-0-30.zip, pending.txt and Howtoinstall.txt

Copy the Checkemail3-0-30.zip into your Homeseer XXX/updates2/zips folder and pending.txt to the Homeseer XXX/updates2 folder.

Restart Homeseer and it will self install for you. Read the Howtoinstall.txt file so that you get access to the instructions.

              Hector,

On the events page, have you got the dropdown box set to 'all groups' ?

Yes Jon, in the section that says recurring there isn't a new event. Also checked all others.

                  OK, most odd.

You will need to add the event manually.

Create a recuring event to run say every 10 minutes. Set the action to run the script CheckemailPOP_V3_HS2.vben with the following also added to the Optional Parameters field:

                  ("main","normal")
                  Jon

I made the event and ran it, I got this message in the log:

11/18/2011 4:19:35 PM - Jon00_Email - Mailbox one Pop error : Error received from PASS command: -ERR authorization failed

Have you set up your accounts in the ini file?

What service provider do you use for email?

The error is showing that it cannot connect to the mail server.

Are you sure you have the correct address for the POP server?

I googled and found one site showing this as the address:

                            pop-server.tampabay.rr.com
