    Custom TTS with jon's email

    Hi Guys

I want to setup something in HS so that I can email a text string and have it announced over TTS. I'm guessing the easiest thing is setup an event linked to a script that I can pass a string to

    Example:
Email to email address that John's script is checking
    Subject: "TTS: Merry Christmas"

I want it to extract before the colon and announced the trimmer part after colon.

Any suggestions on how to accomplish?

    Regards

    mark

There's this in the hs help...
    /WebHelp/tipstricks/tipstricks_emaildevcontrol.htm

I'm wondering if worst case, you set a device string using the above methods, then after a slight pause, have the same event speak that string.
Don't know, perhaps Speak "This string" might work in the subject as well.
I've never tried triggering anything via email.

You can use the triggerscript facility to do this.

Under [Settings] in the checkpop.ini, make sure that Triggerscript=1

Open up CheckemailPOP_Triggernew.vb script in a text editor.

Just above the end sub, add:

      hs.Speak(hs.StringItem(MailSubject, 2, ":"), True)
