Hi Jon,
I used the debug tool to create a new user.
Then copied the new user password to the config file.
Looks like the new password is longer.
How do I try out sending API commands to the bridge?
Every bridge has a debug tool, which you can use directly to send API commands to the bridge and see results. This can be found at http://<bridge ip address>/debug/clip.html.
Jon, does this make sense? Check it out please. This only happpens when you do the firmware upgrade - DO NOT DO THIS AND YOU WON'T BE HERE!!!!

Hey Jon,
When I went to HS3, I started using PhilipsHue plugig (by Philips), but where it says it has Animation, I can not see how to use it. I was looking to go back to yours. Do I need to remove the Philips one and reconfigure all of those events or can I use both?
Thanks,
PS: love your plugins.

Parameter, username, not available
I am getting the same error:
[{"error":{"type":6,"address":"/username","description":"parameter, username, not available"}}]
I've found out how to create a new username by using the debug tool;
https://developers.meethue.com/docum...etting-started
but I've have no clue how to put the generated username in the config file
So any help would be welcome.
Thx.

Parameter, username, not available
Thanks got it working now, that was the missing piece I was looking for.
For people like me I have put the things in a row;
Procedure with Error:
[{"error":{"type":6,"address":"/username","description":"parameter, username, not available"}}]
Connect with test app to your Hue bridge:
http://<bridge ip addres>/debug/clip.html
You will get the left picture on your screen.
Fill in details below;
URL: /api
Message Body: {"devicetype":"homeseer"}
I used "homeseer" as device type but of course you can pick your own name.
Press the link button on the Hue bridge and right after that press the "POST" button.
You should see the response like in right picture.
Put the generated username in the MD5Hash entry in the Jon00PhilipsHueData.ini;
MD5Hash=arrPiEvU854BhuMQE5VDSCSbljtVRhHFKUagdxLn
Thx to Jon00 and X10joe
