Jon00 RSS Feed Viewer for Homeseer 3 & Homeseer 4

This package enables you to view RSS (Really simple syndicate) feeds as virtual devices in Homeseer 3 & 4.

In addition, you can also announce the feeds with a variety of options. Each feed story is shown in its own virtual device and you can select how these are displayed (Just title, just story, both etc).

You can also trigger an event if certain word(s) are found in the RSS title and/or description.

As always, it can be downloaded from my site (Click on my banner below).

(No Banner seen?- check your Forum Settings - User Settings, Account, Tick 'Show Signature')

Any issues or suggestions, please let me know.

        Hello Jon,
is it possible to trigger events or run scripts dependent on
specific RSS feed words or entries like "Thunderstorm, Rain, .....)

        Regards, Fischi

ditto that the ability to run an event or a script based on specific words would be killer.

              Jon,

I think it would be very useful.
One example would be to trigger an event to shut the blinds if there are weather warnings.,..,.. .

              Could you add this ?

              Regrds, Fischi

I can add something but just need to get my head around a few things i.e.

                Trigger on Heading/Description/Both?
Trigger on first RSS item or all available?

                Thoughts?

I also need to manage re-triggering if there is no change to the feed.

I'd say both. If the headlines say zombies have risen and then the feed states where I'd set up different alerts lol

V1.0.1 is now available which allows triggering of an event (per RSS feed) on detection of defined strings/words within the title and/or description text.

There are several options available to determine the Event triggering criteria.

                      Hi Jon,

Just wanted to say great work!, I had been thinking about getting some RSS feeds into HS for morning TTS and so on and this works perfectly.

I am not sure if others are the same (although I suspect they are), in that I love seeing the new and wonderful things you are able to do when a new script / application / plugin is released, it adds so much more to my HS system
HS3 PRO, Win10, WeatherXML, HSTouch, Pushover, UltraGCIR, Heaps of Jon00 Plugins, Just sold and about to move so very slim system.

                          Hi Jon,

I also want to say Thank you for your fast and great work.
I didn't find any issues until now, it works great !
I'll do some testing and then I will give report.

The RSS Feed Viewer is very useful in connection with the meteoalarm.eu RSS
                          feed.

                          Best regards,
                          Fischi
