Jon00 Device Grouping Utility (web page) for Homeseer 3 & Homeseer 4

This web page utility allows you to group Homeseer devices as Parent/Child (HS3) \ Root/Features (HS4) or un-group devices via easy drop down menus.

Operation should be straightforward but examples are included in the docs.

I got fed up manually adding device references in scripts so wrote this utility to make my life easier. Hopefully others will find this useful too!

If you are unsure what grouping is, look at the screen shots below. It shows devices which are ungrouped and then grouped in the device management page.

    Use at your own risk!

As always, you can download it from my site (click on my banner below).

Interesting but those screenshots look the same to me

Look at the spacing between the devices and curved corners!

This is awesome! I created manual scripts to do this for me that I had to edit each time I wanted to group devices.

I can't wait to check it out.

I hate to give a suggestion before I even try it out...but while I am thinking about it...

For the option where you create a new root device, it would be really cool if you could browse for an image for the device.

For the new parent device, it just takes you to Homeseer's add device page. I did not think it was worth repeating functionality that is already there!

I downloaded the plugin from your site this weekend, but I get a NullReferenceException.
Files have been placed in the html and scripts folder.
                Do you have a clue?

Can you post the actual error?

Due to my system installation, it is partially dutch:

Error Processing ASP.NET page: De objectverwijzing is niet op een exemplaar van een object ingesteld.

The last (dutch) part is: The reference to an object was not set to an instance of an object.

Can you try calling up Test.aspx which is provided by Homeseer in the HTML directory.

My HS installation is running as a service. Although not officially supported, it does work for all my plugins. This plugin unfortunately not.
I will just have to do a workaround. by temporarily not running HS as a server to setup my groupings.
                              Thanks for the support though.
