% value in only one field

    % value in only one field

    I have tried to work on this before, but work got in my way. Now I have some time to work on it. In my Forcast 2 day min I have a percent value. It showes up in both the HS GUI and the Web Page. I can not find any differance between forcast min day 1 or 3, which work fine. I have checked all my settings and I must just be missing somthing. Does any one have any suggestions on a starting point to reslove this. Thanks for your help in advance

    In the Forecast setup page check and make sure the correct virtual device is referenced for forcast day 2. It sounds like your output is displaying the wrong virtual device value. If you initially let setup assign the values the min device codes should be in sequence.

        It could be two items are assigned the same device code. Is the LastChange date for Forecast 2 the same as Forecast 1 & 3? If not does it correlate with any other class of device?

          When I checked the database I went to the properties of each field to see if I could find somthing. They are all the same. Under 4.6 I had the % in the 2 day min all the time. I went to 4.7 and it was gone. I went to 4.8 and it was a % for one day and today it appears to be correct. I have not changed anything in the system. The system created all of the code to use. This one is driving me nuts. Any suggestions ona path to take. The rest of my system is working fine.

            Forcast 1 and 3 have the same last change date and time, but differant values. forcast min 2 date has a differant date and time , but it's in a % value. I have looked item by item in every field that I can find. I do not see any problems. I never changed any codes, the installation of the script created all of the vaules used. I am very close to deleting out the entire MCS package and then reinstalling. If I understand it correctly I would just have to enter my Lic key and them apply the updates? is that correct. Amy suggestings would be great.

              Since your last change date is different it means that something other than Forecast's GetWeather procedure is storing data in that virtual device. If mcsTemperature is doing it, then I think the only devices that are suffixed with % is the humidity devices. Pay special attention of any weather devices that are of type humidity. When viewed from a browser do you see any icons for this device. mcsTemperature formats all its devices with icons included and the icon should reflect the type of device that is being updated.

              Do you have any other scripts/plugins that run periodically that store % values? Are there any other devices that are updated at about the same time as this one? You can see this easily from HS GUI by showing all locations and sorting on the Last Change date.

              I would not suggest uninstalling and reinstalling since it looks like this device is a symptom rather than a cause. If you do uninstall then you need to consider how much is going to be retained. You can delete the devices and you can rename the database and two ini files. You can do this same thing without reinstalling and you will achieve the same objective. When the "Update" button on the setup window is clicked then the environment will be recreated. When each sensor is located on the 1-wire a new device will be added and a database field will be created. You may end up with different plugin house codes if you delete the devices. You will likely end up with different device codes for your sensors, but they can be changed back.

                I turned on the debuging in the plug in and have found that each time I see a setIO [60 from 0 to 19. This was on 10/7/2003 @ 7:36:47 my HomeSeer Device gets updated. Does anyone know why or what could be causing this.

                  Device 60 of the first plugin house code is the composite error rate device and this gets updated periodically if there are errors or not.

                  Device 60 of the second plugin house code is the forecast device that is giving you problems.

                  It looks as if you may not be using plugin house codes, but homeseer codes. I'm not totally aware of the implications of this.

                  Disable error logging, which is a setup option, and these updates should not interfere with the the forecast devices.

                    When I orignally installed this plugin I let it assign all house codes and HS devices. Tonight after I deleted everything, I again let it create everything. Now I see a device named Composite error rate [60 and Forcast 2 day min \60. I never saw the composite error rate device in HS before. I think over the number of upgrades the prefix to the device 60 was changed and my system did not update correctly.

                    The only problem I have now is that my one-wire devices are not updating the database. The database has the correct column names and I can see the data being retrived by the system. It is just not getting into the database. They are being updated correctly in HS as device R1, R2, R3 and R4



                    I guess I will work on that another night.

                      1. Interface Tab checkbox to store to database
                      2. Temp Tab for database field name
                      3. Database Tab for database and table names

                        It appears that all data collection is working. The only problem I have nw is that I changed the default Style sheet to style.css. It works fine for the forcast.asp page but does not work correclty on the temperature.asp page. It starts to show and fill about 1/4 of the page in the upper left, the rest of the page has a black bakground.

                        I will look at this at the end of my work day. Thanks for the help in resloving this
