    log error / warning

I have a TEMP08, but I don't have any of my temp sensors wired to it yet. I just wanted to see if I could get HS to see it, and I think I did, but I rebooted and saw this in my log:

7/14/2006 5:01:06 PM - Warning - (2)Device Temperature Temperature 6800000075129226 has properties different from its current device type of virtual - device type has been changed to virtual.1

    what does that mean?
    Plugins:
BLLogMonitor, BLGarbage, BLBackup, BLOutGoingCalls, BLUps, BLRfid, JvEss, DooMotion, Applied Digital Ocelot, AC RF Processor, UltraMon, PJC AVR 430, UPB, Rain8net, DSC Panel, JRiver Media center, Windows Media Player, SageMediaCenter, SnevlCID, MCSTemperature.

I really do not know. It is something that started appearing on later builds of HS2. I suspect there has been some change in what is expected in some of the device properties, but I dont know what the change may of been associated with this warning message.

Yes it explains it. As Rick indicated the device type designation is now associated with a set of device properties. Much like a Microsoft Word style is comprised of paragraph and font properties. Since the device type names do not have enforced device properties in my plugins it will not matter that HS now changes the type. Users should just consider it a nuisance message. In some of my plugins the user is allowed to change the device type so it may cause them some grief when HS adds a suffix as other properties of the device are managed.
