    What are Reserved Sensors

Just begining to use the plugin and only have a temp 08 hooked up with the included termp sensor. Listed sensors include "reserved" items as shown in attachment. Seems to me that these are not valid and should be removed.... but how?

One is humidity rate and the other is the 2nd voltage channel of the DS2438. Both have been removed from earllier versions and the position in the sensor list is reserved for something that might be requested in the future.

You should be able to remove a device from the list by clearing the device code and clearing the name followed by a save/update.

      Michael,

I tried deleting the sensor, but it keeps coming back! Then, after a couple of hours, I started to get this in the log after each update and no data is being recorded in the database. Looks like it not only recreated the s4300000075137826A sensor, it did it twice!

Can you zip up your Access database which is likely mcsTemperature.mdb and the mcsTemperature.ini so I have something to work from to look into what is happening. Email mcsSolutions at CenturyTel dot net

Just wondering what the solution here might have been. I have the same problem.

I do not have the email from back in February. Typically the same database filed name is used for more than one sensor in the Sensor setup page.

                I figured as much.
Perhaps I should review the situation.
The following error is being generated for each database update, ie. once per minute.
                <TABLE cellSpacing=2 cellPadding=0 width="100%" border=0><TBODY><TR><TD class=LOGDateTime0 noWrap align=left>9/1/2007 7:50:03 PM </TD><TD class=LOGType0 align=left colSpan=3>mcsTemperature </TD><TD class=LOGEntry0 align=left colSpan=8>Database field s640000004FD1B526A is being created</TD></TR><TR><TD class=LOGDateTime1 noWrap align=left>9/1/2007 7:50:03 PM </TD><TD class=LOGType1 align=left colSpan=3>mcsTemperature </TD><TD class=LOGEntry1 align=left colSpan=8>Resize Fields: on line 820 Cannot define field more than once.</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

I've tried deleting the offending device and also renaming the database field for the device. In the first case, the device is simply recreated on restarting HS. In the second case, another device with the original database field name was immediatly created in addition to the original device. After deleting the first device with the renamed field, yet another was created with the original field name.
I think my system is possessed!

If you send me your mcsTemperature.ini file then I should be able to figure it out. If the database is not too big then that may help as well. mcsSolutions at centurytel dot net.

Done. I hope the database file isn't too large. It would have been much smaller had I read your post two days ago.
