weatherxml problem just started (running ver 4)

Am using ver. 4.47.16 and this spontaneously started tonight.

01/10/2010 6:00:00 PM ~!~Error~!~Running script, script run or compile error in file: weathercom_xml.txt424:Object required: 'oNode.selectSingleNode(...)' in line 144 More info: Object required: 'oNode.selectSingleNode(...)'

    <repeat every="" minute="">..repeat every minute...<repeat every="" minute="">

Have turned off "Collect Forecast data...", which solves the problem but causes other ones given that I count on up to date forecast data for various HVAC event logic.

    line 144 of weathercom_xml.txt is:

    hs.SaveINISetting "WeatherInfo","LastUpdate",oNode.selectSingleNode("lsup").Te xt,strPluginINI

Did weathercom xml download file format change?

    Am I S.O.L. because i'm running version 4?</repeat></repeat></snip></snip>

Perhaps not coincidently, a similar problem with the Weathercom_xml package. Glad I'm not alone. It started at about 2300 GMT.

Apparently something changed in the XML structure. I did not notice any issues today with my other applications that use data from Weather.com. mcsTemperature no longer supports download from Weather.com because it cannot assure the terms of the download license are being satisfied. In particular the need to display the Weater.com logo on pages that use the data.

Looks to have stopped about midnight here. No errors since then.
          Perhaps they're (testing) going digital

I turned weatherxml downloads back on this morning and things appear to be working again.

Can I get the up-to-date list of supported weather info sites these days? Am still pondering an upgrade to the latest version and the weather data is something I use in logic to control my HVAC. I found bits and pieces by browsing change logs but I don't think I found all the pieces. (Note that the "Intro" sticky still refers to weatherxml as supported. I also found a number of references to fixes to downloaded weatherxml data in ver 5 change log post. Is this the weather.com download file or is there another weather source that provides a file by the same name?)

            Any info be appreciated.

I also use WeatherUnderground, BL Weather, Unisys weather and NOAA for external weather. (plus internal weather sensors). You can also install a cheap outdoor weather station to get some data without being connected to the internet. If I am on holiday; I use both my weathercam shots and my own weather data to "adjust" my HVAC.

As Pete indicated there are many sources of weather information. For the mcsTemperature case, MSNBC site stopped transmitting. It was replaced by NWS. Weather.com data can be used. The plugin will not download it, but it will accept the already downloaded XML file such as can be obtained from the WeatherXML script package.

The migration from V4 to V6 could present some rework if Event Triggers and Event Actions provided by mcsTemperature are used. The browser interface vs. the form interface is the other big variation.
