The issue looks to have been introduced with the use of the HLP command. Your Temp08 is returning data every 60 seconds, but it takes several minutes to return the results of the HLP command and the lost connection logic did not see new sensor readings for more than 2x the polling interval so it tries to recover the port connection. I had done some things in this area awhile ago. I posted this 2.0.0.1 update. If you wish you can see if it makes any difference in this situation.. My Temp05 is at a remote location so I do not want to disturb it as it is working well.

Thanks Michael. I will give update a try. Earlier tonight changed the polling to every 5 minutes. This is actually a test using the QSE-100 Four port serial device server. Using the terminal emulator it appears to be working well.

What I am noticing is that the dot net version Temp0X connected to a Temp05 never goes deaf. The dot net version Temp0x connected to a Temp08 starts to go deaf when it gets the voltage readings. Three or four of the following cause it to go deaf - no matter how many times I restart it.

Your previous post showed a conversion error
              Code:
IncludeContent Line 510 Conversion from string "05.09V 05.09V 01mV" to type 'Double' is not valid
I do not think there is any logic to decode a Humidity sensor reading as a set of voltages. If I recall it used to be a sensor type Voltage and not Humidity that was used for this. Why is a humidity reading showing up as voltages?

I don't know why its showing up as a voltage. I've gone into the Temp08 and told it via MS terminal not to show voltages. It won't for hours then suddenly it starts to show the voltage instead of the humidity reading. I don't see this with the other Temp08 connected via MCSTemperature. Its very odd. If I just leave the terminal session running; it'll stay just showing the humidity and never show voltage. The question marks "???" do show up repeating whether I am using Temp0X or whether in the terminal session. I don't see these showing up on the other Temp08. The "???" will show up when there's no devices on it or when there's 5 devices on it.

                  Pete,

One of your TEMP08's is running a later version than the other, I suspect. In recent versions, the Voltages display for errored readings on Humidity and Pressure sensors.

Michael: do you want a more recent version of TEMP08 to work with on debugging these kinds of problems? PM me if so.

Mitch, thank you for the offer. I will just work with Pete with his setup. If I had a version of all the hardware that various users have then I would be totally confused andn would not know how to manage it.

Pete, The debug may provide additional information. Do hearbeats show up? If a BSC query or relay command sent, does the xAP message acknowledge from xapmcsTemp0x?

I will turn on debug. This one is running on a separate PC with serial connection to QSE-100.

On the messages GUI see the following today - note that the main gui devices haven't been updated in a few days. Will provide more detail after debug.

                          Michael,
Attached are three debug txt files. The first one shows it running then stopping some time after first run. The second and third are BSC query and relay command sent. The relay command did work.

                          Thanks for having a look.

I filtered out the voltage reading from humidity and baro with posted version 2.0.0.2. This seems to be most of the issues. I'm unclear if the RS-232 stops or the xAP LAN stops based upon your posted data. It looks more like the RS-232.

Make certain that your timeout you have setup in xapmcsTemp08 for polling rates are consistent with the polling rate that you have the Temp08 set. If the xapmcsTemp08 one is too short then it could thing the Temp08 has stopped and will try recovery by closing and opening the COM port.
