    xapmcsRF - W800/ two Recievers

Hi is it possible to have two USB receivers interfaced to the xapmcsRF?
Like 310Mhz & 433Mhz I only see one comport setting in the setup.

The approach is to run two instances of xapmcsRF. Use different folders for each. I have only used a serial W800 so do not know if the USB version behaves differently. In some setup unique identification is needed and if that is the case in yours then I can do a second compile with a different name or add an instance parameter.

      Hi Michael
With xapmcsRF I had been using rfxcom USB receiver that had the two receivers slaved together but needed the updated firm ware for the 433 unit for specific sensors and it could not be flashed. too old not flashable

So I purchased a new 433 USB unit I thought that I would just open the Old USB salved unit and remove the 433 receiver board leaving the 310 receiver in place and use the new 433 Reciever But xapmcsRF will need to except two comports for the two separate receivers.
If that is not to difficult for you to add another comport for a second receiver will be glad to test it out.

I have been using xapmcsRF for a few years and love it and its an interracial part of my home automation setup.

      Thank You

I still do not understand why two instances of xapmcsRF cannot be run. Each one communicating over its own COM port.

OK well I just tried that and there is some issue. Here is what I have done.

I have one folder xapmcsRF with the current receiver set to com3 and working. I copied all the contents of that folder into a new folder named mcsxapRF433.

I start up the exe in folder xapmcsRF it is set to com3 and I verify with browsing to the interface set up screen all looks well.

I then browse to the mcsxapRF433 folder and run the exe in that folder when I browse to the interface setup I updated the comport to 4 that is the new 433 receiver.

Here is the strange part if I then right click on the first instance running and browse to the interface settings again to dubbel check I see that the comport on that instance is changed to 4 as well It should stay as 3 correct?

I then check the second instance right click browse to the interface settings and that shows comport 4 so there both on com4 port.

If a change one interfaces comport it changes both instances to the same comport.

What am I doing incorrectly its very confusing.

OK I found that when I browse to the interface settings I need to change one of the instances http port from 8017 to 8018 now all looks correct.
When I browse to instance one port 8017 its com 3 and instance two http port 8018 shows com 4.

*****But the new 433 reciever in not picking up my sensors when I run the IO window it see these entries

I am thinking that the new RFXCOM receiver may not be compatible with xapmcsRF.

if I use the RFXmngr.exe program I can see my sensors messages but not with xapmcsRF

The last decode definition I received from Bert was in 2010 so it your sensor was not known at that time then xapmcsRF will not recognize it. What is the one(s) that are not working for you?

At the start of a packet is a count of the number of bytes that are expected. There are a limited number of packet lengths so when one of those is not seen xapmcsRF discards the data and tries to find something that does make sense. That is what you are seeing in the IO window. I think Bert would be the best one to contact because I can only guess what the hardware is doing. It could be something like the byte order is reversed.

As an example, one of your sensors started with 0D54. I believe the 54 is the bit count. 80 or 84 are reasonable lengths. I don't see this or 50 in the IO window stream for which you provided snapshots. Baud rates could be different, but it seems the data is coming without error and the bit stream does not have the values expected.

I did look for BTHR918N and BTHR968 in xapmcsRF as well as Lacrosse and had no hits. These could have been decoded after 2010 when I last received information.
