Can I connect more than 1 board at the same time?

    Dear all,

To answer my own question: yes, limit should be higher, but in my case I am having trouble connecting more than 1.

    I have:
    • Board 1: Arduino Uno with ethernet shield to read 2 reed contacts (water and gas counter). Configured in API mode.
    • Board 2: For 'playing around purposes' (until I find more useful purpose), I recently added a nodeMCU ESP-12F board, configured also in API mode.
    • IP adress, port etc. are are unique for each board

As soon as the board 2 gets the 'connected' status, 1 or 2 minutes later connection to board 1 fails. And it stays that way until I disconnect the 2nd one again.

    Connect board 2:
nov-11 11:46:19 Arduino Plugin Error = Board: 1 Connection FAILED.
nov-11 11:46:04 Arduino Plugin Warning = Board: 1 has a connection ERROR. Trying Reset.
nov-11 11:45:49 Arduino Plugin Warning = Board: 1 has a connection ERROR. Retrying.
nov-11 11:44:28 Arduino Plugin Updating Values on Board No: 2
nov-11 11:44:27 Arduino Plugin Updating pins on Board No: 2
nov-11 11:44:27 Arduino Plugin Connected to Board No:2 at ip address 192.168.1.47 Port No:55301
nov-11 11:44:27 Arduino Plugin Board 2 Version API1.0.0.146 and Plugin Version 1.0.0.147 are compatible.
nov-11 11:44:27 Arduino Plugin Connecting Board No:2 at ip address 192.168.1.47 Port No:55301
    Disconnect board 2:
nov-11 11:59:14 Arduino Plugin Updating Values on Board No: 1
nov-11 11:59:13 Arduino Plugin Updating pins on Board No: 1
nov-11 11:59:13 Arduino Plugin Connected to Board No:1 at ip address 192.168.1.80 Port No:55310
nov-11 11:59:13 Arduino Plugin Updating Values on Board No: 1
nov-11 11:59:12 Arduino Plugin Board 1 Version API1.0.0.146 and Plugin Version 1.0.0.147 are compatible.
nov-11 11:59:12 Arduino Plugin Updating pins on Board No: 1
nov-11 11:59:12 Arduino Plugin Connected to Board No:1 at ip address 192.168.1.80 Port No:55310
nov-11 11:59:12 Arduino Plugin Board 1 Version API1.0.0.146 and Plugin Version 1.0.0.147 are compatible.
nov-11 11:59:12 Arduino Plugin Connecting Board No:1 at ip address 192.168.1.80 Port No:55310
Board 2 has some delay in reporting the connection error, disconnected it 2 minutes before:
nov-11 12:00:12 Arduino Plugin Warning = Board: 2 has a connection ERROR. Retrying.
Anyone have an idea what is the problem, or how to troubleshoot?

    Thanks in advance,

    Kristof

    Dear Greig,

Seems like you pointed me in the right direction. Did the test, and now both stay connected.

    Tanks,

    Kristof.

    Dear Greig,

You might be right. I just copy an input back to an output to test, but this is executed all the time. I will do a test tomorrow, adding a timer to only send it every 10 seconds.

    Kristof.

I suspect there is a problem in your API code flooding the plugin with data so it is missing the second board data.
Can you send me a debug log of you connecting the second board so I can see what is going on?

    Greig.
