    Secure communication with NodeMCU?

    Hi,
is it possible to secure the communication when using the NodeMCU? I am not an expert in this field but I have a feeling that it could be wise to do so.

    regards, Cor

Not clear what you mean by secure. There Arduino libraries for https vs. http communication. Just select the desired library when you do your sketch.

With secure I mean indeed encrypted communication, sorry for not beeing clear. If it is that simple, by changinjg a library, why not doing so by default?

Look at video 232 from Andreas Spiess for a good overview

Note that https requires significant CPU to setup the encryption link. I saw some numbers that show on Arduino it takes 2-5 seconds of compute just to establish the SSL session. Depending upon your use case you might choose to use symmetric encryption with a shared key since it will permit significantly faster session setup.
