can ipad be a speaker client with Airplayspeak?

kideon is right, iOS devices are not natively Airplay receivers, you need some jailbreak app.
When I took this screenshot from the user guide, I was using Airplay Server which can run in the background, unfortunately it hasn't been updated for iOS 8.
Airfloat is working with iOS 8 but can't be run in the background

There is a jailbreak app called airfloat that will work but it can't run in the background.

I installed the plugin and I am testing it. I see in the user guide there is an example of an IPAD selected as a speaker client.

I know the ipad works as a speaker client when the Homeseer HStouch app is open but can the ipad be a speaker client with Airsplayspeak?

My config did not recognize the ipad but it did my AppleTV, express & soundfly speakers.
