  • Chromecast Audio/Home

Spud, I know this is a little off topic, but would it be possible to create a Speak Proxy plugin similar to Airplay Speak that works with Google Chromecast Audio devices as well as Google Home? Is the API available for you to do this yet? Thanks in advanced.

for Google Home, the API is not yet available so I don't know.

for Chromecast, it looks like it would be possible, I just added it to my TODO list for 2017

I'll just add my interest here. It would be very convenient to use the Google Home device as a speaker client.

I am researching the pychromecast and castnow apps, I think I might be able to put something together. If I get something working I will definitely post it.

Chromecast and/or Google Home support would be awesome but it must be complicated as most automation systems do not have it. Hopefully they can make it easier for developers soon!

First beta version of the Chromecast plugin is available here: https://forums.homeseer.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1545

It should work with any chromecast device or with any device with chromnecast built-in including Google Home.
