  • Stops Working for Me

When I first brought this plugin, although some short-comings that you worked on, was working for me. It came to a time when it would never work. I tried to upgrade and it would get an error upgrading. I tried disabling, but that didn't help. I needed to completely uninstall it and reinstall it. It then worked for a while. It has not been working for quite a while now, again. There is nothing in the HS log. I enabled debug logging. I searched and found a debug log file for this plugin. However, it doesn't have anything useful in it. It says that debug logging was disabled every time it starts, even thought it is not.

Does anyone else have issues with this plugin working consistently over time? I am not sure if I am isolated on this.

Bob, are you still around. I have had a lot of problems with this plugin. It used to work good, but hasn't been working for me in a very long time. I have to resort to keeping my remote laying around, even though I have this plugin. I would offer some detailed log messaged, but all it says is that it was disabled, even though it is enabled.

On time I had problems and I had to totally remove it and devices and recreate them. It worked for a little while and then stopped again. It is painful to have to recreate devices since I have references to them in events and hstouch.

Well, is was a PITA, but I totally uninstalled it, deleted all of my devices and set it up again. It started working. That was probably just a week ago. It is not not working again. I think that you really have some issues with your plugin. I would appreciate some kind of support response.

I have been using the plugin for about 2 years with very little problem. I do have a problem with the receiver staying connected to the plugin over wifi. the way I worked around the issue was to create an event to disconnect every 30 minutes. Seems to solve the little quirk.

When you say you uninstalled, did you remove it from HS management, shutdown HS and make sure all the plugin files were removed?

Yes. I used uninstall from the plugin manager. It didn't seem like that worked well. I shut down HS and manually removed the DLLs and any other file related to the plugin. I started up HS again and installed fresh.

It used to work for me for several months right before and after I bought it. There have been a few new versions since then. I have mine on ethernet cable and not wifi. I cannot say what might be different from your configuration and mine since it is working for you. I am using a TX-NR636.

I had this receiver working well on HS2 using my self-written plugin. I didn't have time to port all of my plugins so I decided to buy some to get me going quickly. I have to say that I don't really like the polling in this design. Mine used to maintain a connection and reconnect if needed. This way I could capture all messages coming from the receiver and not have to try to query state, unless I had been disconnected for some time. It is just a bit frustrating no knowing what is going wrong with this and the author doesn't seem to be around for a long time.
