    Russound bluetooth zone?

Here is what I want to do

I am currently using 2 CAV66 controllers. I have one unused zone on one CAV that I would like to use with a Bluetooth speaker for outdoor use

I am wondering if a product like this could be used in transmitter mode to send music to a Bluetooth speaker outside on the deck

    https://www.amazon.ca/Miccus-Home-RT...4566487&sr=8-1

I am not sure how to make this work - I would have to add an UNO-S2 to the empty zone but not sure how to use the Bluetooth transmitter out of the zone speakers to send to Bluetooth speaker outside

    Is this possible?
    Cheers,
    Bob

I believe @S-F has done something like this.

Nevermind, I misread. You're talking about transmitting, not receiving.

I don't think that would be an issue though. Use one of the zones with RCA outs and I think it would work just fine.

Yes it should work swimmingly. I can't imagine any issues as it seems that this is exactly what the device is meant for.....

One question though. Why didn't/don't you just wire for this as you have new construction? Seems a lot cleaner than a BT solution. I myself have wired outdoor speakers and they are great!

I have gone the other route as has been stated and with great success. I highly recommend at least one source like I've done with a BT receiver.

I do have wired speakers on my deck but we will be putting in a stone patio down below and do not want to have to crank up the speakers on the upper deck so we can hear them down below.

I have one source working with a Bluetooth receiver now and it works awesome. My son uses it all the time in his room.
I am using this as the Bluetooth receiver - works great

            https://www.amazon.ca/Miccus-Home-RT...4566487&sr=8-1

It can also be used as a transmitter but I will need to buy another one for this use because it only works in either receiver or transmitter mode (not both at the same time)

I could likely use my Bose soundlink for this and then just take it out when we need it
            Cheers,
            Bob

Do you think these would work to go from the speaker wires of a zone on the Russound to RCA for the Miccus bluetooth transmitter, then out to a bluetooth Bose soundlink

Can't you use the RCA outs for the zone instead of the powered speaker outs?

At least you have them on all 6 zones, the caa66 limits them to zone 1 and 2. Though I guess at that point you don't need them in all zones.

                      Bob,

I'm curious. Why did you choose the cav6.6? I'm wondering if I'm missing out having the caa66 (party mode, DND, etc) and thinking maybe of getting a cam6.6 or cav6.6.

Yes the CAV66 has them on all 6 zones
I was making this way harder than it needed to be lol

I used one like this before I moved to wireless. Look for one that uses aptX for low latancy.

                            https://www.amazon.com/Zoweetek-Bluetooth-Transmitter-Multipoint-Connection

I liked this one because it provides dual connectivity.
