    Recreate devices with parent/child relationships?

    I saw in one of the updates that the recent versions are supposed to have parent/child relationships or "grouping."

    Since I inadvertently dumped my config, I'm hoping I can somehow have the plugin recreate all the devices with this new grouping intact.

    is that possible / necessary?

    In your hspi_BLRussound.ini file, you can change this value:

    instanceConvertDone=false

    This will force the plugin to delete and re-create all devices

      Huh. Tried that. Even tried removing the plugin and all the devices and starting over. They're not grouped. I'm expecting some sort of grouping based on Controller 1 Root and Controller 1 Zone X Root - each zone to be a group of devices under the Controller Zone Root. Am I expecting the wrong thing?

        They should have got re-created and they should be grouped. That is odd
        Is anyone else seeing this?

        Do the following:

        1. Delete any previous debug logs
        2. Shutdown HS3
        3. Edit hspi_BLRussound.ini and change the following:

        debugLevel=true
        instanceConvertDone=false

        4. Save and close INI file
        5. Restart HS3

        Once started then turn off debug logging
        Log a ticket on my site and attach the debug log zipped
        Cheers,
        Bob

          Done. Here's what I'm seeing... just so we're on the same page that this is "not grouped" ???

            That looks normal to me.

            I think there's a jon00 tool that will allow you to squash them together into "groups".

              Hmmm I could have sworn I added grouping into the devices.
              I will check

                Agreed, S-F, that's how it's always looked. But I assumed that they should be grouped after letting it recreate them.

                Blade, I'll wait to hear back from you. I don't want to rebuild them all then have to do it over if they rebuild themselves with grouping.

                Thanks, gents.

                  No I will update the code to group them as is so you do not have to re-create them (I hope)
                  Cheers,

                    Cool. I won't get too deep into renaming and relabeling them until this afternoon. Then I'll still need to re-build the HS Touch stuff. Fingers crossed!

                      2.0.65 should group the devices

                        They grouped! Cool. All working better than ever now. Thank you, Blade.

                            I just installed this and mine are not grouped. I am using that version. Not sure if you have to change a setting or not to get them grouped.

                              The plugin wasn't working (no communication) so I restarted my server and the plugin started communication and now the devices are grouped. It must be it doesn't do the grouping code until after two-way communication is confirmed.

                              Time to go play!!
