all confused with Itach and send the ir

So I got the Itach in. Got it connected to homeseer
    Set it up as
    irsensor 1
    ir zone 1

    irsensor2
    ir
    zone1

    irsensor 3
    irBlaster
    zone 1

Then i fired up Ilearn, and recorded the power button from my direct tv rmote.

I creeated a device called Direct TV and pasted the code which is this:
    sendir,1:1,1,38461,1,1,
    230,46,46,46,23,23,23,23,23,46,23,23,23,23,23,46,23,46,23,11 53,
    115,46,46,46,23,23,23,23,23,46,23,23,23,23,23,46,23,46,23,11 53,
    115,46,46,46,23,23,23,23,23,46,23,23,23,23,23,46,23,46,23,11 53,
    115,46,46,46,23,23,23,23,23,46,23,23,23,23,23,46,23,46,23,11 53,
    115,46,46,46,23,23,23,23,23,46,23,23,23,23,23,46,23,46,23,38 46

    hit save.

now when I click the send button in Homeseer I get Invalid command. Command not found.

if I go to edit the ir here homeseer only saved a small bit of it this:
    sendir,1:1,1,38343,1,1,

I must be doing something wrong?

You might want to ensure you have the very latest HS GC plugin installed.

Also, not completely sure I follow the above so if you are able to paste in a couple of screen shots if might be easier to spot if there is anything obvious wrong.

OK, I think I can make sense of that.

It looks as if the GC plugin is indeed correctly configured and is sending the command to the iTach. However, the unknown command error is a response back from the iTach.

When you read the iTach API you will see that this error means:
          "ERR_08 Invalid pulse count"

So in other words there is something wrong with the way the command is setup in HS or possibly the way it is learnt.

Can you send the same command successfully from iTest?

PS. The API documentation can be found here:
          http://www.globalcache.com/files/docs/API-iTach.pdf

In Ilearn if I send the test command it works and the light blinks on the itach.

But I think I figured out the problem.

It seems that you can not use the send button in homeseer. If i set up a script and send this:
[Master_Bedroom_IR]DIRECT_BED, Power_ON then there is no error in the log. The send button in HS does not tell it what device to send to.

Right now this is in theory. I am remoted into my system so I can not see if the IR light is blinking on the ITach.

I will post tomorrow morning when I get home to give you the result. Please check back if you can!

            And thanks thus far!

Ok so many things are just not right with this. First off my command in ILearn is:
                sendir,1:3,1,38343,1,1,230,46,46,46,23,23,23,23,23,46,23,23, 23,23,23,46,23,46,23,1150,115,46,46,46,23,23,23,23,23,46,23, 23,23,23,23,46,23,46,23,1150,115,46,46,46,23,23,23,23,23,46, 23,23,23,23,23,46,23,46,23,1150,115,46,46,46,23,23,23,23,23, 46,23,23,23,23,23,46,23,46,23,1150,115,46,46,46,23,23,23,23, 23,46,23,23,23,23,23,46,23,46,23,3834

Notice the 1:3 after the send IR. That is for which port to send from. Well when I paste it in HS it just changes the 3 to a 1. No way to get it to stay a 3.

Next when I test the command from ILearn It works fine.

When I hist the send button in HS I get command not found.

And when I run this script :
                [Master_Bedroom_IR]DIRECT_BED, Power_ON
                The log says 6/22/2012 11:16:08 AM - Event - Sending infrared command: [Master_Bedroom_IR]DIRECT_BED, Power_ON
                But nothing happens.

Really frustrated right now. Any Ideas?

Ok so at this point I wanted to make sure my hardware was working. So I downloaded the ultra gcir plugin. It immediately found my hardware, I uplOaded the it file and it all works great.

Hopefully I can call this plugin from a script. But I will look that up. If so I think I am golden. This plugin is way more intuitive than the global cache one that is included in pro

Sux that I need to sped an extra $30 after buying hs pro.

Don't worry that HS changes the values back. It should change them again when it actually sends the command.

This looks like the same error again, ie something to do with the repeats. You could try change the value manually and repeat the command. You could also try evaluating the above sendir command against what the API is expecting and see if HS is messing up your original command on its way to the iTach

Well, personally that's where I am at. I am a PRO user as well but I found the original plugin slow on my config so I purchased UltraGCIR as well and it works very well.

That said you should be able to make the HST plugin work based on your above issues.
