    Event configuration

    Hi All,

Ive had this PI installed for a while and because of current affairs, now have the time to revisit it and try and get it working successfully.

I’m familiar with the ultra plugin so have some idea about how to configure. Wondered if someone could kindly tell me what the LED drop down setting should be set on when configuring in the events page. what does it do. 1:1, 1.2 etc

I’m using the Global cache setup with the infra blaster plugged into jack number three.

I have some fan codes that I converted to hex using the ilearn software, but can’t get any fans to work.

Just want to make sure I have blaster/cache setup correctly before I start adding codes.

I have an LG telly so wondered if someone could kindly post a known hex code that works ( tried from various sources but to no avail )

    thanks

    Steve

The values in the LED dropdown refer to the module : port of the Global Cache IR LED you wish to send a signal to. On the iTach, there is only one module 1, so your blaster would be 1:3. On a GC-100-06, the module is always 2. On a GC-100-12 or GC-100-18, there are two modules, 4 & 5. If you aren't using an iTach, you will need to adjust accordingly.

For codes, have you tried http://files.remotecentral.com/libra...ion/index.html

      Thanks for info,

I have 4 Global cache modules, 1 is the itach flex ( one jack socket) and the other 3 are itach Ethernet, these have 3 infra sockets on the back. Number 3 socket is used just for the blaster infra red led.

I’m plugged into number 3 infra socket (furthest from cat 5 cable) but can’t get anything to operate.

I can however now get tv to change hdmi input selection to work when using the single itech flex module ( set on 1:3)

I would expect to see 3:3 on the dropdown menu for the other itech Ethernet modules. Correct?..

      Thanks
      Steve

You would need 1:3 to operate the third LED on an iTach Ethernet unit.

Thanks - Still having trouble with fan codes not working after converting to hex - Guess I’ll just have to try and figure something out!

            Hi,

I've managed to find a little bit of time to re visit this. Finally had some luck with converting codes from Global Cache to hex. I can now get the fans to operate using the Itach flex (only one IR output)

For some reason, I cannot get the fans to operate using the same commands with the other three itach Ethernet units. I have changed the LED output to 1:3 as you've suggested above . Anything else I could try, I've played around with the \PI settings but to no avail. Help appreciated Thanks

All other Global cache units are seen by the PI

Interesting... I only have iTach units, both Ethernet and Wifi, and a GC-100-18. That's what I tested with during development. I don't have a Flex, so I'm pleased to know my plugin works with one.

Have you checked to see if the ports on your Ethernet units are set to emitter or blaster mode? Are you able to send the commands to your Ethernet units using Global Cache's iTest tool? https://www.globalcache.com/files/software/iTest.zip

                Thanks,

Sorry very late reply, not had time to work on this, Still only have itach flex working okay on HS4. Other three are itachIP2IR models. Yes, config is set to blaster and led is connected to number 3 (furthest away from ethernet cable)
i know the dropdown menu is on literal and not hex, but get an error when i select that.

Thanks for itest. Here is a screenshot, Im using it with a known working fan hex code. i'm getting an error code but not sure I understand it. Would love to to get these units working again and fans up and running for summer. im out of my depth with these units, but do have a good understanding on infra red. qualified in electronics so pretty tech savy. just struggling with these. Help very much appreciated.

Sorry, my mistake, you can't use ir codes in hex format with iTest. It wants native global cache commands. The plugin makes the conversion between the formats.

I just made a small change to the plugin to log the global cache commands it sends into the enhanced log. Can you overwrite HSPI-drhsIR.exe in your homeseer directory with the version attached here, enable enhanced logging in the plugin's config page and then try sending the commands again? Then let me know what you get logged in drhsIR.log in your HomeSeer/Logs directory. You should also be able to cut & paste the commands from the log file into iTest.

This is cut and pasted from the Pi code section - Code works fine on itach flex

It looks like the PI is sending the code to your iTach just fine and the iTach is responding that it sent it OK. One thing that concerns me a little is there appears to be a space in the middle of the command being sent to the iTach (between the 16s). That shouldn't be there. However, I tried with your hex code this morning and I can't reproduce that problem. Maybe it is just a quirk of this forum? Can you confirm if the space is really there in the log file?
                            Code:
                            sendir,1:3,70,38000,9,1,48,16,48,16,16,48,16,48,16,48,48,16, 16,48,16,48,16,48,16,48,48,16,48,272
The response from the iTach is exactly as it should be
                            Code:
                            Received 18 response bytes from 192.168.0.159 in 305ms : completeir,1:3,70
You should be able to cut & paste the "sendir" command from the log file into iTest now. Please try with and without the space. Can you also capture a log with you sending the hex code to the iFlex? It would be interesting to compare.

I think we're close to solving this now.

Okay - Sorry for delay, TeamViewer for some reason thinks I'm using it for commercial use, so have to unplug PC and view via screen rather than remotely!!!

I tried cut and pasting code into itest but no fan working.

Here is code from log when I run the event to the itach flex (bedroom). Can confirm that fan code works on this.

There were no spaces in the code, so guess it was gremlin with forum?!!

Hope this helps. You will see I restarted HS prior to running event.
