OK, so I can see that your iTach and iFlex are receiving the exact same code, except for the LED 1:1 vs 1:3, and they are both confirming that the code is valid and sent. I wonder if this could be a hardware problem? Are you using the same type of IR blaster or IR emitter on the iTach and the iFlex? On the iTach's web config page, what is the configuration for port 3 set to?

Using iTest, can you try the code on both the iFlex and the iTach, changing 1:1 to 1:3 as necessary? Do you see the same "completeir" message coming back?
    Code:
    sendir,[B]1:3[/B],70,38000,9,1,48,16,48,16,16,48,16,48,16,48,48,16,16,48,16,48,16,48,16,48,48,16,48,272
Another possibility is the code itself. Do you learn it from a device, or did you find it in an online database? I cut and pasted the code into IrScrutinizer (https://appimage.github.io/IrScrutinizer) which seems to think it is a NEC code for device 4, function 6 and recommends:
    Code:
    0000 006C 0022 0002 015B 00AD 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0041 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0041 0016 0041 0016 0016 0016 0041 0016 0041 0016 0041 0016 0041 0016 0041 0016 0016 0016 0041 0016 0041 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0041 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0041 0016 0041 0016 0041 0016 0041 0016 0041 0016 05F7 015B 0057 0016 0E6C
instead. This could be a complete red-herring! The iTest version of that code is:
    Code:
    sendir,[B]1:1[/B],1,38000,1,69,347,173,22,22,22,22,22,65,22,22,22,2 2,22,22,22,22,22,22,22,65,22,65,22,22,22,65,22,65,22,65,22,65,22,65,22,22,22,65,22,65,22,22,22,22,22,22,22,22,22,22,22,65,22,22,22,22,22,65,22,65,22,65,22,65,22,65,22,1527,347,87,22,3692
I think I'd start by checking out the hardware and port config. The PI is sending the code and your iTach is responding that it's good, so I don't think the PI is the issue. I'd like to test some more with finding the true "reference signal" for your remote but I'm in the middle of moving house and my IR test gear is packed up in boxes at the moment.

      Okay, Thanks

Port 3 is configured to blaster and I am using the same type of IR led. Codes were originally learned and been okay, although always used senddir rather than hex. I did contact Global Cache support for their advice and they kindly looked at the codes for me.

I do get the same message when I paste the code into itest, so appears to be okay?! no errors. I have a spare fan remote, I'm happy to post it to you if that helps. ports are 4998.

Let me know if you need any further info?

So the sendir code that the PI uses doesn't work on the iTach using iTest either? Am I right in saying that using iTest, the code operates the fan when sent to the iFlex but doesn't operate the fan when sent from iTest to the iTach? That is very strange.

Have you ever been able to operate the fan from an iTach and if yes, what combination of plugin / code did you use? If it has worked before, then I'm all the more determined to get it working again with my PI! :-)

The code you captured and the code IR scrutinizer came up with are subtly different in the way they repeat (and I see you have selected a repeat count of 9). I'd like to use an IR widget with IR scrutinizer to get a better idea of what the original remote is sending. You're most welcome to send me a spare remote but it could be a while until I can get to it. As I said earlier, my IR stuff is all packed up at the moment and in storage. I'm hoping to complete on my new house mid-April but that date was originally mid-Feb and it's been pushed back and pushed back - a lot. Very frustrating!

Send me a PM if you want to send me a remote and I'll let you know my address.

I’ll confirm code works on itach flex with Itest in Morning ( fan in different room but itest returned same info on both flex and itach.

Yes, used to have all three tachs and one flex working all, fans, plus tv.

This was using HS3 and UltraGCIR3 PI using the Global Cache codes (senddir)

Upgraded to HS4 and so installed your PI and realised it uses Hex.

Converted codes to hex and that’s about as far as I’ve got!

I’ll post fan codes here tomorrow as wife now collared tv that pc is connected too!

          Cheers

            Morning,

Ok can confirm fan low code works on itach flex, but not when connected to itach. I obviously change from 1;1 to 1;3 and connected to appropriate tach in itest

Assuming that Fan Med command works on HS3/UltraGCIR, I looked at it more closely and based on the sendir string, it looks like it has a 20 byte preamble followed by a 24 byte code that gets repeated 4 times. That repeat count is "hard coded" and when using my PI, the repeat part will always get sent 4 times regardless of the repeat count you set in an event. I don't know how UltraGCIR handles repeats like these.

So I manually converted the code into one with a preamble and a "soft coded" repeat count that my PI will repeat in line with the setting in the event.
                Code:
                0000 006E 000A 000C 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0030 0030 0010 0010 0030 0010 012E 0030 0010 0030 0010 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0030 0030 0010 0010 0030 0010 0EB5
N.B., this still may not be the most accurate representation of the code. Capturing codes isn't always as straightforward as it should be. :-).

Let me know if this works any better and if it does, I can have a go at cleaning up those other codes. Getting hold of the remote will still be helpful. Oh and by the way, what is the make and model of this fan?

                  Hi David,

I’ve not had chance to try codes yet, work has been a tad manic.

I’m hoping to find time next week. Will keep you posted.

                  Thanks Steve

                    Hi David,

Trust you are settling in to your new abode. Sorry for lack of communication, work has been manic and playtime limited.

I’ve a week off in a couple of weeks so aim to get these up and running!
