Feature Requests - MeiHarmonyHub (Logitech Harmony Hub Monitor and Control)

I don't think this is possible. I'll have to research it. I don't think this uses the same "hub" as the other harmony hub devices.

Does this have a phone app and is it just the "harmony" app?

It has a dedicated app called "Express" on IOS

The problem is that they don't send out when a device is controlled, only when a activity is started/ended. I seriously doubt they would add this feature as the XMPP communication method is their old method of communicating with the phone apps and I while they agreed to keep XMPP around, I don't see them making major (or even minor) modifications to that part of the hub's firmware.

I can try and email them or contact them on their forums, but in the past they have shown very little interest in working with the HA community unless it is another giant corp.

I have been working with the plugin and I am getting the feeling that the use case I am hoping for is the opposite of what is intended. I would like to have some of the commands that I enter on the remote to go from the hub to homeseer and then have homeseer issue the command to the respective device. I have this working with triggering scenes, when a scene is triggered, homeseer tells the receiver to change input etc. by sending IP commands through another plugin. The problem I have run into is trying to sense when the volume button is pressed (or something similar) and sending a command to the receiver to turn the volume up.

Would it be possible to work with Logitech on creating a custom device that could be added to an activity on the Harmony? Maybe this would give you access to all of the buttons on the remote which could then in turn be mapped to events in Homeseer?

Can you expand on this? I have no ability to add devices to the hub, only monitor and control activities and then control devices already added. You can kinda do this with https://github.com/bwssytems/ha-bridge which it treats it like a hut hub, but note that the buttons you can map to those devices on the remote are limited, but you can include them in activities and then map them to devices in HS (using JSON calls into HS3).

Request #2 - Have a status window in the plugin that would tell you when it has picked up a command from the hub.

I could add this, but the only commands it would pick up are activity changes not individual commands from the remote to an A/V device.

It would be awesome if you could create a virtual device that could be added to the setup in the Harmony Hub. You could add this device to an activity and then use Homeseer to map what the functions of specific buttons do. This would greatly assist me in controlling my A/V equipment that is remotely located in the basement.

I notice you put all the devices in a Location MeiHarmonyHub. It would be nice if on the hub configuration page you could specify a location to map them to. Then my Guest Room Harmony Hub devices would appear in the Guest Room, not in MeiHarmonyHub.

I only force I think on the main devices and you can change them (I never overwrite them once a device is created). For some of the other devices like Voice Control Devices, I believe you can specify the location 1 and 2.

I will consider this though, but it will only work if you fill out those values before you enable the hub for the first time.

I see in the configs from the hub how it links generic button presses to devices and their commands. I will have to think about how to do this. Likely I will limit it to only scripting and events as I can't think of how to do a generic device for this as each activity can have a huge difference in the generic buttons they have mapped.

There, I could send a command "pause", no matter what activity that was active. I used this in a doorbell-event - when the doorbell rang, it sent "pause" to the hub and it would pause not matter if it was the Apple TV, Blueray or the TV PVR that was the current activity. It seems this isn't possible with your plugin? I have to select which device I want to send "pause" to...?
