VLAN networks Un-discoverable Harmony Hub

Hey Guys, I'm having issues getting access to my harmony hub, which I've isolated to my IOT network along with all my other IOT devices.

First off, my Homeseer runs on 192.168.1.XX subnet and has the native VLAn

Second, my Harmony hub runs on a 192.168.20.XX subnet and is assigned to VLAN20

I've done a number of things to troubleshoot this.

1. I've input the IP address in the Hub Management window with no devices able to be discovered (mind you this was after trying to auto discover)
2. I've made a firewall exception to allow Homeseer and the harmony hub access to each other (Allow TCP & UDP) and I've been able to ping from the Windows OS I have homseer running on and I get 100% packet flow
3. I've added a connection with the 192.168.20.XX subnet and still no luck

Something tells me this is something related to how Homeseer is binded to the 192.168.1.XX ip in setup>Labs.

I've run into issues because i have multiple connections on this PC that cause Homeseer to grab one of the other connections and not the one I want all the time.

Can anyone help with this issue? Short of putting the Harmony hub on my native VLAN, is there any sort of hope?

What switches are you using? What type of router are you using? mDNS enabled?

I have a Unifi network setup with several VLANs and had the same problem many months back. I have the Multicast and Broadcast Filtering enabled so needed to add my smart home PC to the excepted device list to resolve the issue. On Friday I moved HS3 to a new computer and the only issue was the harmony devices no longer worked. Finally remembered to add the new PC to the expected devices list and all is working perfectly.

In settings I edited the wireless network that my harmony hubs connect to and added the mac address for my HS3 PC to the expected devices list. I also have the USG in the list but not sure if it is needed. The list is seen under the Wireless Networks Advanced Options when you enable Block Lan to WAN Multicast and Broadcast Data.

Unifi USG
Unifi AC Pro (wifi)
Unifi 24 port 250Watt Switch
Unifi 16 port 10Gigabit Switch

This is assuming I'm using "Block VLAN to WLAN Multicast and Broadcast Data" I actually have it disabled on my networks.

Regardless I changed the settings to see if this would solve my problem, but it still isn't working.

I'm not entirely sure if it is a firewall issue or not...

MDNS - Enabled
Multicast and Broadcast filtering - Disabled for all Networks/VLANs

I can ping the harmony Hub via my Homeseer Computer.

Below are all my rules. The Harmony Hub lives on IOT (VLAN20) and Homeseer Lives on my default LAN

On a final note, all my VLAN Trucking is set up properly. This ha been for a while. I'm just unclear on why Homeseer cannot connect, and I'm assuming it has something to do with the software (perhaps IP binding?)

My system was already configured in that way...

In addition my VLAN/network is configured correctly in regards to VLAN tagging/trunking.

I'm unable to locate Harmony hub through homeseer. When I activate the IOT connection I get the same results.

Is the Harmony hub wired or WiFi?
Trunking vlans through VMs can be a bit tricky and worse if you don't have a layer 3 switch (for vlan routing) but go through this topic here : https://lime-technology.com/wordpres...-use-cases.pdfto see if anything applies.

Please note that am not a good blogger that's why I post links a lot. I check them out first and try to help. And because every network is different you have to be prepared to read.

Tip : Beware of MAC filtering, they too can cause blockages I think the are set Site-wide and when configured differently per WLAN (AP) they will stop devices from connecting (Check the event log!)
