    Reconnect attempt failed

    Hello Ultrajones,

    running HS 2.5.0.1, iTach WF2IR firmware 710-1001-02.

Today, I got the following error messages:

26/01/2011 09:58:20 - UltraGCIR Warning - Watchdog Timer reconnect attempt failed.
26/01/2011 09:58:20 - UltraGCIR Error - Ethernet connection could not be made to 192.168.2.54:4998 - A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond 192.168.2.54:4998

Power led was no longer blinking on the iTach. After cycling power on iTach, power led started blinking again.

However, HS doesn't appear to reconnect to iTach. When I try sending IR, no IR is sent and no error is reported. I've turned debug mode on and collected the log below.

That error indicates a TCP connection cannot be established to TCP port 4998. Have you tried selecting the reconnect option from the iTach HomeSeer Wifi Module 0:1 to force a reconnect attempt?

Thanks, I hadn't realized these options were there...

Reconnect has been successful and IR is now sending correctly.

The strange thing though is that, despite the error messages, the iTach HomeSeer Wifi Module 0:1 displayed as connected before forcing the reconnect attempt.

      Regards,
      Nicolas

I am running the latest version of your plug in and the latest firm ware on 2 GC-100-12's soon to be adding 2 more and also a wifi2cc and for all of my devices I get the following error messages

2/4/2014 9:00:03 PM UltraGCIR Warning Watchdog Timer indicates TCP connection to Global Cache device [192.168.1.72] was lost.. Attempting to reconnect ...
2/4/2014 9:00:03 PM UltraGCIR Info Ethernet connection established to 192.168.1.72:4998
2/4/2014 9:00:03 PM UltraGCIR Info Watchdog Timer reconnect attempt succeeded.

they always seem to reconnect but this occurs almost every 5 minutes, IR commands are sent ok but I am just starting to add the GC IRE to implement IR triggers these intermittent disconnects are causing the serial port to disconnect and then need to be manually reconnected doe anyone have an Idea where this is comming from.

I have followed the posts and ensured that he baud rate is turned down to 9600.

any other ideas would really help

            Cheers Ken

Is the device at IP 192.168.1.72 a GC-100? The GC-100's only allow 1 TCP connection. If you have something else connecting to it, then they will toggle like that every 5 minutes. The iTach units allow multiple TCP connections, so those shouldn't be doing that.

                Thanks Ultra

That solved it. I was having HS2 and HS3 both trying to connect to it

                Cheers Ken
