New user with a first time setup question.

    Hi All,

I am new to this and have what might be a silly question.

I have an iTach IP2IR and just got UltraGCIR. I am able to find the iTach on my network and use iLearn to capture the codes from my remote.

When I follow along in the guide it looks like on pages 7 and 9 I see all the devices that the iTach is going to control.

When I look at my setup all I see is the below and I can not figure out how to add my devices (like a tivo, my tv, or anything else).

Even if I go into UltraGCIR and then go to IR devices there is nothing to add a new device, only modify the existing ones.

I am sure there is just some simple step I am missing and hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

    Thanks

Hello Rob. From UltraGCIR > Import IR, select the IR Module (1 though 3), then click Browse to find the import file (the text file you saved using the iLearn utility).

Thanks, the video was very helpfull! It looks like I was able to upload the info but I can't get it to work.

I am starting off with an IR wallswitch I have that controls the lights, it has 5 buttons on it. Using iLearn I came up with the following file.

        Code:
        [LIGHTS_ON] sendir,1:1,1,39808,1,1,823,274,91,276,91,367,92,183,91,91,275,641,823,276,91,275,92,367,91,183,91,92,274,642,823,275,91,276,91,3980

        [LIGHTS_OFF] sendir,1:1,1,39808,1,1,823,274,92,275,91,91,367,91,91,274,92,183,92,457,824,274,92,274,91,92,366,91,91,275,92,182,92,458,823,274,92,276,91,91,367,91,91,274,92,183,92,457,824,274,92,274,91,92,366,91,91,275,91,183,91,3980

        [LIGHTS_UP] sendir,1:1,1,39808,1,1,823,274,91,276,91,5095

        [LIGHTS_DOWN] sendir,1:1,1,39808,1,1,823,275,32,5095

        [LIGHTS_FAV] sendir,1:1,1,39682,1,1,823,274,92,275,91,365,92,182,92,91,183,91,275,364,824,274,92,274,91,365,92,182,92,92,183,91,274,3968
I have an IR emitter in port 1 and the IR blaster in port 3. When I execute the command I see a red light blink in the emitter but nothing happens.

In the log I see this each time I ask it to do something.

        Code:
2/10/2013 2:57:01 PM Device Control Device: GlobalCache IR UltraGCIR Plugin IR Module 1:1 (]11) Value set to 42
Do I have something else setup wrong?

If it means anything I just noticed this in the status tab, my items were loaded into IR Module 1:1 but for a last change that says "never set"

Please use the Global Cache tools to test the IR before attempting to use the UltraGCIR HSPI. The iLearn utility allows you to send it to make sure it is working. It will make things easier for you to figure out you have valid IR before attempting to use it with HomeSeer.

I found the built in Globla Cache IR learner could not properly learn IR for some of my remotes. In this case, you need to find the IR Hex codes and convert it to Global Cache IR using their iConvert utility (available on the Global Cache website).
