if I have been following this thread it seems no one likes the FW on the newest Mega (FI9820W). So wondering am I better off getting the FI8910W.
Where did you see that no-one likes the new one?

      Installs fine, no error.

1.1.4646.30097 installed fine - and seems to work well. Setting up some recurring events.

See below - one comment from Ultra and at least one other - maybe not a big deal but they seem to indicate the firmware is not really finished - not sure if that should be a show stopper - also did a web search and found a few negative posts on the web. I like the idea of higher resolution but I don't need another headache - just trying to get some feedback so I buy the best camera before the sale ends.

The alarm capability is working on the MPEG Foscam cameras. Foscam support wasn't sure if/when HTTP alarm trigger would be added to the H.264 network cameras. So far, I am not that thrilled with my FI9820W purchase.

Videostream isn't supported by this plug-in. I only included it on the camera config in case I wanted to provide the link to the camera video stream.

            Great Plugin

The emailing of "video" works quite well.

Every aspect of the plugin is doing fine. I would only change / add 2 things -

            1. Within the Snapshots folder, after selecting a snapshot from an event. The ability to have the full size view and to "navigate" left right is great - however - the white transition screen between pics is not that good. From a security "review" standpoint, whilst looking through an event's pictures - it is quite distracting. You are looking at the stills, representing a change in time - yet the time is broken by having to refocus after the white transition effect. Does that make sense? I am sure it is there to help negate the time involved in switching to the next picture, but I would rather have a simple pause, if necessary.

            2. The ability to specify the location of the picture folder root. For instance, in my setup there is a drive "D" which has tons of free space. It would be keen to specify "D:\Netcam" as the picture area. In my setup, I keep the "C:\" drive as small as possible. The image backup method I use produces 6 GB files which are a nice manageable size considering it is the entire C: drive! Being able to store event pics on D would be a very welcome addition.

              UltraJones,
One word, your program is magnificent, thank you. The snapshots are really a nice feature. Do you know if this will support the NorthQ cameras, I have few of them at my house.

Just an FYI, I found out that I had to remove the database and etc. also if I only installed the previous version of the plugin.
I got blocked by the program because your default on the security option is not set for local access, minor thing.

              Thanks,
              Aldo

The issue with my Foscam 9820 and WLAN was solved by reflashing the firmware with the same version (newest) that was already on it. Evidently it was somehow corrupted. So far it has been ok, but the reported issues with brightness are true. One workaround is that you can force the IR mode on sooner through a CGI URL, and of course Homeseer can do that.

                    Hi Ultrajones,
Not sure you saw this buried in my previous posting "Do you know if this will support the NorthQ cameras" I have few of them at my house.

                    Thanks,

It should work with any ip camera just got to find the image url.

                      Camera Model: NorthQ NQ-9006
                      Possible URL: http:///img/snapshot.cgi

                        Thanks, it worked perfectly.

WanIP missing from URL in email

Great plugin! I tried it with a Panasonic BL-140 camera in addition to a Foscam camera. The plugin alarm trigger from the BL-140 worked fine.

I also tried the email notification which used UltraSMTP to send emails. One issue is that the WAN IP is missing from the URL in the email. ! If you use hs.WanIP, I noticed the other day that on my system it does not return the IP (returns unknown while the Help > About displays the correct WanIP address). But even though, the generated WanIP/Port would not work in my case due to port mapping (it is not 443 on the Internet) in the router. A system wide user specified setting to specify the WAN URL (hostname or IP and port) would solve both.

Great plugin...been stable and running well here...how far are we from release? Any other changes/features planned? Ready to go with 1.0?

What is the best way ?

                              Hi Everyone,

I don't know if I have my head around these snapshot events yet.

My goal is to have a snapshot taken on each camera, 5 minutes apart (about 288 snapshots per camera / day) and have the snapshots viewable in the snapshot gallery for a couple days (so a 1000 limit would save 3.5 days of data or so per camera) so you could look back if something was to happen.

What do you think the best way to event this out would be??

                              thanks in advance.

                              mark

Error / omission in UltraNetCam documentation

Wanted to point out there is a small error in the documentation and in one of the posts concerning the use of the Foscam Alarm Trigger.

In the documentation (see below) the requirement for a port number along with the address of homeseer is missing. I thought the HS port number was not needed since the port is called out for the camera IP but not HS. Did not work until I added my HS port number -- but now works fine.

Hope this post helps save someone a bit of frustration...

                                Documentation says:
Enabling the Foscam Alarm Trigger Hidden Feature
You can enable the alarm trigger on the Foscam JPEG camera as follows:
                                http://{camera IP address}:{port}/set_alarm.cgi?http=1&http_url=http://{IP Address of HomeSeer}/hspi_ultranetcam/hspi_ultranetcam.aspx?trigger=alarm&user=admin&pwd=password
Note: The user and pwd in the URL above is for the Foscam Camera and not HomeSeer.

                                Documentation should say:
Enabling the Foscam Alarm Trigger Hidden Feature
You can enable the alarm trigger on the Foscam JPEG camera as follows:
                                http://{camera IP address}:{port}/set_alarm.cgi?http=1&http_url=http://{IP Address of HomeSeer}:{port}/hspi_ultranetcam/hspi_ultranetcam.aspx?trigger=alarm&user=admin&pwd=password
Note: The user and pwd in the URL above is for the Foscam Camera and not HomeSeer.
