  • Foscam FI9821W problems - Solved!

I just received a few of these cameras. They have firmware as follows:

    System Firmware Version 1.2.1.1
    App Firmware Version 1.1.1.10
    Web Version 2.0.0.0
    Plug-In Version 2.0.0.0

    UltraNetCam Version 1.1.4782.24793

I tried the following snapshot URL, but it is not working when I try to take a snapshot:
    /cgi-bin/CGIProxy.fcgi?cmd=snapPicture2&usr=$user&pwd=$pass

When I go to the Cameras page, I can see the latest image for each camera, and even click refresh all cameras to get updated views (a snapshot file even shows up in the images folder). However, when I try to take a snapshot from the devices drop down list, or from an event using the built in UltraNetCam action, nothing happens. I see no snapshots on the snapshot screen, nor in the snapshot folder I specified under archive settings. I tried multiple HS restarts and no errors appear when debug is enabled. Any ideas?

FYI, I tried it in both trial mode and again after activating a paid license plus a restart. Still no joy.

EDIT: I tried deleting the db3 file and restarting everything from scratch. No joy, same problem.
EDIT2: I also tried one of my Axis cameras. It has the same issue...can see it on the cameras page after a refresh but taking a snapshot does nothing (I also tried the action button to take a snapshot on the plugin devices screen).

    Platform: Windows 7 x64
HS: Pro 2.5.079, NOT installed on default C: drive (in case it is some path issue in the plugin, however all items appear where the should: database, dll, config file, html, and images folder)

Hello Automated. The "Take Snapshot" device action just refreshes the last_snapshot.jpg and the last_thumbnail.jpg in the NetCam image folder. That is what the UltraNetCam > Cameras > Refresh All Cameras does as well.

You'll need to set up a HomeSeer event as follows in order to view images in the UltraNetCam > Snapshots web page.

      1) Click Events > Add Event
      2) Click the Trigger tab, then select whatever trigger you want to use to trigger the snapshot events.
      2) Click Actions Tab, then select UltraNetCam Event Snapshots.
      4) Select the Network Camera, enter the number of snapshots, delay between snapshots and select the other options as appropriate.

When this event runs, it will create a unique snapshot event that will be viewable from the UltraNetCam > Snapshots folder.

      Does this help?

      Regards,

Well well...I guess I am blind.

I only saw the Take Snapshot, but not the Event Snapshot. It worked just fine.
