API setdeviceproperty Request doesn't set property, returns "Response": "ok"

I'm attempting to set the name of a device using the setdeviceproperty API request:
https://connected2.homeseer.com/JSON?user=USER&pass=PASS&ref=ID&request=setdeviceproperty&pr operty=Name&value=NewName
I receive a "Response": "ok" after hitting the endpoint, but the name of the targeted device does not change.
I've tried it on various devices with the same result. In addition, I work with a multitude of HS4 and HS3 units. The request consistently does not work on HS4 but does on HS3.
Is it possibly a device configuration problem? Thanks for any insight anyone offers on the issue.
