  • SCRIPTING NOVICE: Controlling volume

Going to try my hand at scripting, and I have a question regarding a simple task: I know how to get and set the volume for the speaker client. I'm wondering if it is possible to control the master volume of the computer through scripting? Or perhaps just muting/unmuting it? My point of confusion is this, from the Online Help File:
    SetVolume
This function sets the master volume of the system sound device that the speaker client(s) are using.
    ...
To change the volume for the MEDIA functions, use MediaVolume.

This machine is on Win 7. The sound card is RealTek. There are separate mixer sliders for "Device" and the various "applications" (of which HomeSeer Speaker is one). I don't pretend to understand sound devices on these things (I go back to CTRL-G making a "ding" sound under DOS), but I was hoping that one or the other, SetVolume or MediaVolume, would control the master volume of the system. Am I wrong, or is there some other way of doing this...scripturally? Scriptically?
