How do you recover from a script timeout problem???

While trying weatherman.txt to capture current weather, I've starting getting - "the script you are running is taking longer to execute than expected..."
The generic issue is that HS doesn't seem to be able to recover from this, at least not in my Win2000 installation. Clicking End Now or Continue does nothing, and you have to use the Task Mgr to end HS.
This seems a bit of a problem as one script problem takes out all of HS.
Can anyone shed some light on where the problem is and where the fix should go?
Is HS having an issue with timeout recovery? Is there an option to have HS auto terminate a hung script and let it go to the next trigger?
Is it a script issue - where an error condition in the script should be getting checked for a non-response (say from the internet) and closing down the script? And does that work? (HS recover and continue)
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
