The current vogue is use of plugins to provide a richer interface to homeseer. I will be making availing this week the mcsMusic / Now Playing plugin. All you need to do is enter the text phrases that will be used to recognize a playlist or command button and then speak this phrase with a mic or phone.
There is also SeerAmp plugin which has a rich scrpting interface, but I do not know what has been implemented for voice recognition.
Raw scripts without plugins for winamp are usually done using the winampcom activeX control. There may be some users that have done VR with it.
Since you are a scripting novice you are likely better off with a GUI plugin interface rather than a script unless you thirst to get dirty doing your own scripting.
