    No longer getting data!

Well, finally Ricks script can no longer find the data - anyone know how to fix?:

~!~Warning~!~Could not get data from URL, error -2146697210 URL=http://mobile.esignal.com/wml/quotecheck.asp?Z=1&S=$INDU

Looks like it might be (but I couldn't get it to work):

    http://mobile.esignal.com/quotes.asp...NDU&type=index

    or for a stock:

    http://mobile.esignal.com/quotes.asp...=GE&type=stock

This has been a great script which announces well, and I can't remember half of what I did to it - but it just can't get the data now.

    Thanks,

    GLT

What - no one uses this anymore? Sell all yours stocks to buy HA software?

Well, I'll see if I can't fire up my old (but still supported) version of H*A*L that has stock price functionalty built into the (supported) program. That should take care of it.

      Thanks,

      GLT

          Glt,
I just noticed the post today. I've been working on the script as I noticed it died a few days ago. I've got mine working right now. Kinda hacked up but it is running. They changed the site slightly and I did make a crude work around.

Use the address below to just look at the site. It wont work if you substitute it
          in the original script.
change the XXXX to your stock.

            Thanks Tim & Stuart,

            Tim:

I rely on mine to SPEAK the stock values and the one you posted doesn't appear to do that. I made some customizations on how it speaks things, so I would really like to fix this script.

            Stuart: You said:
"It wont work if you substitute it
            in the original script."

Yeah - it seems I tried the same thing, but it didn't work - although it apperared to get data for at least one of the stocks.

I think you are on the right track, I think all that needs to be changed is the URL which should be a quick fix - but I just don't get why it doesn't work.

If I can fix it, I'll post the solution, hope you'll do the same.

Maybe Rick could chime in - it's his script and worked for several years.

            Thanks,

            GLT

              Glt,
This script is working right now. I made a few changes and it seems to be okay. I put in a few samples and they seem to work ok.
