  • Writing Status to a Log File and calling them later

I remember a few years ago (in the X10 days) there was a script that would write the current status of devices to a log file. And then another script that would open the log file and get the status from the log file and assign/change the devices back to.

Example, I am trying to get at: Insteon LampLinc \3 is on and LampLinc \7 is off, write that to a log file. Then a few minutes later, open that log file and set LampLinc \3 back on if it was off, and \7 off if it's on.

I can't seem to find it. Anyone?

    Thanks,
    Rick

Take a look at hs.GetIniSetting and hs.SaveIniSetting. They're quite handy for saving and retrieving data.

Your properties helped me find the script I am looking for in the forum. Thanks!
