VB Scripts no longer loading

I just migrated my HomeSeer computer from a dying one to one running Windows Vista. I have the new computer with HomeSeer running error free, but there is one thing that has stopped working--my vb scripts no longer load/run.

When HS starts, there is no error, and the startup completes successfully. However, none of my Insteon scripts loads.

Anyone have the answer for this one?

Do you have dotnet 2.0 installed?

also are all your scripts in the scripts directory? Just in case they ended up being copied to a sub directory by accident

Also, turn off UAC.

It is very hard to work with. I spent 1-2 weeks playing with it (Win7). I was not ever able to get it to work properly.

I did turn off UAC right away, and the scripts are indeed being called.

However, if I run one of the scripts manually in command prompt, the response is that there is no script engine.

I'll look into the .NET 2.0 and reinstall if necessary.

I can't remember but is the Microsoft Scripting engine installed by default on Vista?
Try this, go to your \Windows\System32 directory with a command prompt and type:


regsvr32 msscript.ocx

If it comes back with a message that the registration succeeded, then try starting HomeSeer again and see if it works.

I always appreciate the help, but it seems that HomeSeer didn't like the fact that I uninstalled .Net and reinstalled it. Now the web server doesn't seem to work. I'll tackle that one with a reinstall of HomeSeer, I think...

But on the script issue, after a little more observation, what is happening is that the Insteon_ExtSupport.vb is not being called by the plug-in. All of the vb scripts are in the app_path/Scripts directory. So, it's c:\Program Files\HomeSeer 2\scripts

HomeSeer launches successfully, but ends up not registering the two external Insteon devices. But, it does launch the startup.txt script. Hmm...

OK, I have the latest version of HS running again successfully, EXCEPT for some reason, the Insteon plugin isn't loading the Insteon_ExtDevSupport.vb script. As a result, my EZIO device and motion sensor device are not registering with the plug in.

Anyone?
