I'm glad to hear you're making progress.

      To explain "Groups":

      Think of AND and OR
Where AND is a number of things where you want ALL of them to be True in order for the result to be True. (the event to trigger)

OR is a number of things where Any one of them will make the result True.
(Any Group will result in the event triggering)

Let's take "Group 1": You can put any number of conditions here. They must ALL be true for the trigger to happen. This is "AND"
      A and B and C etc. = Result

      Now.

If you have Group 1, Group 2, Group 3, etc.
Any one of these groups will trigger the event.
Group 1 Or Group 2 Or Group 3, etc. can trigger the event
      G1 Or G2 Or G3 = Result.

( This is actually a bit of a lesson in what's called Boolean Algebra. )

Don't worry. Many people have trouble understanding this concept.

Now, having said all that, I think I misled you on the event I described earlier. I'll edit it.

EDIT: I was right. You only need the one group, with two conditions.

        • For All:
If you plan to be using things like temperature, etc. as triggers, one word of caution.
From time to time, a any one or more values may not be available from EC. In these cases, the device string shows "N/A" and the Device Value is set to Zero.
However, Zero is a valid temperature and may cause some problems, especially if that's your target. Ie. A freezing warning.

There are then, two options available.
1 - I can turn that device On or Off as data is, or is not available. The Status can then be checked for validity as part of the trigger.
2 - I can set the value to -9999. Again, that value would have to be tested in the trigger to check validity of the data.

If I do the former, then it's an easier trigger to use/check in events.

If I do the later, then, as in Loup's case, the device Status will be available to set On/Off by your events, and subsequently used for other purposes, as it isn't currently used by the script.

Your Thoughts? (I'm leaning toward option 2)

It's not a problem with the script.
It means Environment Canada doesn't have that data.

From time to time, the data may not be available from your selected area.
In these cases, the downloaded file contains a blank or N/A in these fields. I always substitute "N/A" meaning "not available".

I've often seen this in my area.
Sometimes it will be Visibility or Pressure.
And when there is no WindChill or Humidex value because the temperature is not in range for these you will see this.

You may want to try another location. What location is this? I'll look at it.

Vous pouvez essayer un autre emplacement. Quel endroit est-ce ? Ce que je vais voir.

Sure. Just add that to the Action list for the Alert event.

                              • If it's still saying this, and assuming you have things set up correctly, then your location isn't providing a long range forecast.
