IP / Serial Plugin for HS3 (by "drule") - Discussion Thread

I'm trying to get control of my projector and other media room equipment through Homeseer. I have the projector connected to a Global Cache GC-100-12 on the serial port. I discovered the drule plugin and thought it would be a good way to create the interface with Homeseer. However, when I try to install the plugin using the executable file, I get an error message stating that it "could not load file or assembly HomeseerAPI ... or one of its dependencies." Then I read that the HomeseerAPI was being deprecated. Is there an option for me to get this plugin going, or is there another similar plugin recommended for IP to serial control from Homeseer?

OK, I see what has happened. The data coming back from the Russound contains CRLFs. I'll have to make to change to convert these into Chr(13) and Chr(10). Will try that a bit later.

Drule - did you ever have a chance to look at this? I am still throwing errors all of the time in the log. I don't think (?) is impacting my comms with the Russound devices as they are so verbose that they often repeatedly feed information. But who knows?
