Hide from view button on a device?

In each device it has the hide from view. I assumed it would hide it from being seen on web. Is that its purpose?

I think it has to do with what guests see.

at the top of the page it has a "hide marked" / "show all" link, you may need to click that

This is to hide that device from the HS GUI as well as the status page that HS creates. For example, I use this to hide Christmas devices until that time of year and then I turn them back on. You can always over ride this for all devices by using the afore mentioned View > Show all devices
