Cannot find file wpad.dat

I have been trying to chase this problem down but have had no luck.


Web Server Error 404, cannot serve file: C:\Program Files\Homeseer HSPRO\html/wpad.dat

I think it has something to do with Explorer's proxy settings, which I haven't touched.
Just what is a proxy server anyway, and what is it's purpose?

Any suggestions on how to make this error go away?

It must be some type of networking software you have loaded on your PC looking for this file.

yes.. Same problem. Can anyone advise me how to set up the browser to avoid this?
