  • Fundamental HS control question

I'm building a webcontrol in fluid/responsive design (my skills are more in design than in codeing). I will be using buttons with layout controlled by css for sending commands to HS.

One way I can think of is calling a small asp file via a link:
    a href="aspexeceute.asp?command=C16 ON" class="btn btn-primary btn-large" >Bedroom ON
Same logic would apply for events, but this method will open a new window - no good.
I have played around with HTML5 buttons and hidden iframes, but for some reson I cant it to work.

I have AJAX/Jquery in place for the feedback/status - this works quite well.

Any suggestions for how to make a custom button do this?

I'm simply trying to have a button (not the standart browser type buttons) that when you press it, execute a command to HS. The button will have different label, color and underlying command, depending on the device status.

But as I'm Building a dynamic page with dynamic updates, I want to be able to send commands to HS without leaving the page/refresh it

You might reconsider going the .ASP route - that will go away in HS3. If you use .ASPX, you should be fine.
