    And if you close it it stays in memory, Then load again and you get another instance in memory,close,now you have two, ect.......

      Watch the upper left corner of you screen and then have a X-10 device chanhge status. If you watch carefully, you will see a little box flash by.

      I think that the X-10 command has to be issued from something other than HS (I used WinEvm in the example below)

      and Jebus is correct:
