Can't see HS web site internally

Ok, I know this has been discussed many times, and I've read all the old posts I can find but still can't figure it out. I can get to HS web page externally just fine, but from within my network I cannot.

My setup is a bit unusual, I've got a USB DSL modem (means I can't use a HW router), static IP, a 4 port switch, and 2 clents (one wireless). I use a NAT/internet sharing program called AllAboard which works very nicely and autoconfigures itself. I use BlackIce as well.

I'm not a network expert (obviously....), but I think the clients are set to obtain an IP automatically. I've tried using the static IP, localhost, and all the internal IP's I can find that start with 198, and various port settings, 80, 81, and 8080.

    Any ideas?

If you click on the globe in the Hs toolbar does the page display? If you use http://localhost:xx/stat does it work?

The Globe from the "main" PC running HS does work, http://localhost:81/stat from a client PC does not. (Have port set to 81 in HS)

Localhost will only ork on th PC that is running HS. Bring up a dos prompt on the machine that is running HS and type ipconfig. This will list the ipaddress of the host pc. Then try putting this ipaddress in the url. for example mine is http://192.168.0.104:81/stat

I've been using ipconfig to try to figure this out. The upper section is titled "ethernet adapter local area connection 2" and it has my static IP address (subnet mask 255.255.252.0). Below that is a section labeled "ethernet adapter local area connection" and has an IP of 192.168.0.1 (snm 255.255.255.0) I tried setting the snm to be the same and that didn't help. I assume the 2 sections show my IP internally, and my IP to the external internet.

I've tried using 192.168.0.1 with and without port designation (I've got port set at 80 now), but nothing works, just get that standard "page cannot be displayed" screen.

there's a gateway specified on the first section but not on the 2nd, if that means anything.

After rereading your post, I think you wanted me to try my internal IP on the pc running HS. I tried http://192.168.0.1 and http://192.168.0.1:80 in IE and neither worked.

                DOn,

If the IP address of your HS Server Machine is 192.168.0.1 using this as you have stated should display the HS page the same as if you used
http://localhost:80/. In your earlier post you said you are running BlackIce Defender. Try turning off all virus protection and firewall software to see if they are interfering with the ports within your network.

It wasn't BlackIce, or Norton Antivirus, but the problem is now solved.

The NAT/Internet sharing program that I use, AllAboard, has a "Server Settings" screen. In that screen there is an IP under the heading "Virtual LAN Address" called "Server's Internal IP Address". When I tried that IP it worked.

                  Thanks for everyone's help...
