    MS Agent Web Page

Will MS Agent pull it's ACS file from another url other than micro$oftdotcom? Say I have an ACS file that I want users to load from my url, how would I put that in this line:
    ------------------------------------------
    Response.Send "AgentControl.Characters.Load ""Dot"", """ & location & """" & vbNewLine
    --------------------------------------------
I have tried and keep getting an error. When I view the source, I have my url correctly displayed w/filename in place of the label "location" thru a function, but it wont load the ACS file. I'm pullin it from the HS html folder. Any Ideas?.................JG

Is this the right output from view source?
    AgentControl.Characters.Load "Dot", "http://208.200.27.200:XXXX/dot.acs"

        Jebus,

Try www.noip.com (or other similar products) to have a free domain name associated with a dynamic IP address.

An Update This Will Not work unless you have the dot acs file in your agent characters folder. It is a very small Agent Character from the web. Some will recognize the character.....JG

? The Dot acs file is a Agent Character that was made by someone to be small and almost invisible on the desktop. You will notice a small 10 pixel square when it speaks right where MS Agent defaults to on the screen. It is a very fast and unobtrusive agent character.....JG

since i don't have agent installed on the pc i tried from, i don't have a agent characters folder, so since you didn't put the path in your zip file, i have no idea where it supposed to be installed to.

my suggestion is to point to a Microsoft installation point for this character instead.

If you have Agent characters installed already then it goes in the default folder:
                  C:\WINDOWS\MSAGENT\CHARS
on a Win98se Box. If you do not have Microsoft Agents installed and the Dot ACS file installed this TEST will NOT work! I apologize and I will give full instructions when I finish the project..JG

It sounds like, From reading many pages, that the MS Agent Server will not Download from any other remote location other than Micro$oft. And only the four original characters. Can anyone correct me if I am wrong? It seems like the character file is available locally or from Bill's Server only.............JG
