    Setup problems

OK, tonight I have just started with the HS download and have it initiaially integrated with the Stargate controller yet the download page doesn't allow a download of the user guide.

I need the basics on setting up a web-page to view on my LAN and then to the outside world. I am only able to at this point launch the web-page from the machine it is resident on. This is a win 98 SE machine. I have a Linksys router with a 16 port switch and 5 other PC's on the net interfaced to a cable modem with a dynamic IP address.

It appears I need to implement this on a web-server with a dynamic Ip service such as no-ip.com or equivalent. what PC-based servers are people having luck with?

You should be able to see the HS generated web page on any machine on your lan as well as any machine outside the lan using your ISP provided ip address. For example http://34.345.34.345:81

You need to set up your router to allow incomming requests to port 81 or what ever port you set HS to run on. This is accomplished by configuring the router to point to the correct machine on the lan (for ex 192.168.10) and the correct port on that machine.

I am now able to view the homeseer on the internet and LAN yet only will port 80 configured in the HS and the Linksys router. I attempted to try port 81 and port xxxx yet these do not work? Yes I typed in http://xx.xx.xx.xx:81 yet it does not get me to the hS server. Any ideas. I really want to get off port 80 for security reasons.

Thanks to Rupp I rebooted the router and the changed settings for the port 81 are now working. Everything good to go.
