    Plugin start is pending

    Hi Stefan,

I installed the Smart Meter P1 PI.

    I have the following issues:
    1. Status remains Pluging start is pending
    2. Under more no options are available
    See visualization below:

FYI I did a restart of HS4 after installation of the PI.

    Hi John,

Thanks for testing. Could you try again, using the beta version? I believe I hit an old bug again..

    Looking forward to your feedback!

      One step further.

My setup i a USB P1 cable connected to a RPI/ And HS4 running on an different system.

What do I need to choose and what do I need to do on the RPI?

Easiest setup is if you connect the USB P1 cable to your HS4 system directly.

If you prefer to use a Raspberry Pi (probably because of length limitations), I suggest to setup ser2net on the RPi.

Below an example of the config file /etc/ser2net.conf (my test setup, note that I have an old DSMR3 meter, newer meters require "115200 8DATABITS NONE 1STOPBIT").

        2000:telnet:600:/dev/ttyUSB0:9600 7DATABITS NONE 1STOPBIT banner

In the plugin, use the IP address of the RPi and the port configured above (2000 in this example).

I tried the ser2net but that was not working.

To troubleshoot the issue I will start with the direct connection. However I can not select my COM port. The first COM ports are not selectable.

This is clearly not my finest moment... Sorry about this. I forgot to disable my test code...

Please redownload the beta and see if that helps. Thanks!

How is decided which devices are created?

In my case the devices for the gas meter are created and I don't even have a gas meter.

Hi, please install the latest beta and remove those devices. This was test code that should never be published.

For sure this is not your fines moment as the new beta will have the initial issue (Plugin start is pending).

It works for me. Can you please restart HS4, reinstall the beta and see what happens?

                      A restart solved that issue.

Still no luck with the RPI option.

This is resolved, there was a configuration error in de ser2net config.
