  • SEL update to latest version (how) - Solved!

    Hi all, currently running SEL with 3.0.0.258.

    Install instructions states go to setup tab/general and check for update. I have no check for updates option.

    Help appreciated

    I'm not sure why that option is not showing up. That is the easiest way to update.

    Another way is to use PuTTY to SSH to the box as user homeseer.
    Then:
    cd /usr/local/HomeSeer
    ./updatehs.sh 358

    UPB modules via OMNI plugin/panel
    Plugins: Z-Wave, OMNI, HSTouch, weatherXML, EasyTrigger
    HSTouch Clients: 3 Android, 1 Joggler

      Hi,

      Thanks. That's a little beyond me. I know how to ssh to box but that's about it. Sorry. Any other way with baby steps?

          Pete, kindly logged in from overseas last time and sorted out a few things that need some expertise.

            If you can SSH to the box, you're almost there. Just SSH to the box as user homeseer.
            At the prompt, just type:
            cd /usr/local/HomeSeer
            ./updatehs.sh 358

              Rob,
              Sorry, I am still stumped. I think Pete used something call webmin or something last time. Excuse my ignorance but still a little unsure [emoji853]

                ah - @Pete is the best. I forgot about webmin. He can probably show you where to go to run SSH.

                  Rob, thanks, been a while since I used (well over a year) and forgotten most of it!

                  Let's hope he can assist on this one ! Thanks you for your input and prompt response [emoji106]

                    Try this. From the HS3 web interface:

                    * go to Tools->System->Linux Tools
                    * Log in
                    * In the run box enter:

                    ./updatehs.sh 357
                    -Rupp
                    sigpic

                      Thanks Rupp

                      That did the trick.
